     *    TANCET (Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test):
This exam is conducted by Anna University, Tamil Nadu for admission to M.Tech and other PG courses in its affiliated colleges.

      *    Post Graduate Common Entrance Test (PGCET) Karnataka:
This exam is conducted by Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Karnataka for admission to M.Tech and other PG courses in its affiliated colleges.

      *   Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test (PGECET):
PGECET is conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), A.P on behalf of APSHCE (Andhra Pradesh state higher education council) for admission into M.E. / M,Tech./M.Pharm./M.Arch / M.Plg. (full time) in University and affiliated Engineering colleges in A.P.

Eligibility Criteria: 

The following categories of candidates are eligible to apply for admission to course programs.

(a) Bachelor’s degree holders in Engineering/Technology or its equivalent.

(b) Bachelor’s degree holders in Science/Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Science/Electronics/ followed by qualifications obtained through an examination conducted by professional societies recognized by UPSC/AICTE.

(c) Bachelor’s degree holders in Architecture/Design (for M Des program only)

(d) Master’s degree holders in Physics with Electronics/Instrumentation (for M Tech programs).

All the candidates should qualify in the GATE paper concerned in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) or Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) (for the M Des program) and possess valid score cards.


Eligibly for Master of Engineering (ME/M.Tech) (apart from general criteria):
 
To be considered for admission to ME programs in various departments / centers, candidates with BE / B Tech or an equivalent degree must have a valid GATE score from the GATE paper which corresponds to their branch in the qualifying examination.


Eligibly for Master of Design Degree :

Candidates of General and OBC category must have secured at least 60% marks or CGPA of 6.00 on a 10 point scale at the qualifying degree level; but for SC/ST/PD category candidates, this percentage is 55% or 5.50 CGPA on a 10 point scale. The aggregate marks awarded for the qualifying degree will be considered for eligibility.

Eligibility for a specialization within a Department may depend on the candidate’s choice of test paper in GATE.

The FIRST class (60% marks) in qualifying degree (55% marks for SC / ST) is essential general eligibility criteria. For candidates with an MBBS background, qualification
in MCI/PGChandigarh/AIIMS/AFMC Pune/ post graduate entrance exam is required for BME M.Tech programme.


B) Candidates with Associate Membership Examinations (A.M.I.E, etc.)

Candidates who have passed the Associate Membership Examinations conducted by recognized professional bodies (like Institution of Engrs. (India), Institute of
Chemical Engineers., Aeronautical Society of India, Institute of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineers., Indian Institute of Metals etc., are also eligible to apply for the appropriate M.Tech programmes, provided they fulfil the following requirements:


i. the above examinations are recognized as equivalent to B.E. / B.Tech Degree.

ii. Candidates MUST have obtained a FIRST CLASS or 60% marks (55% marks for SC / ST candidates) in the above examinations.

iii. the candidates have a minimum of two years professional experience after passing the final examinations of his qualifying degree.

iv. candidates have a valid GATE score

A relaxation in CGPA/marks to 6.25 (55%) is also available to those with M.A. Degree in English, for admission to Ph.D. in English.

For admission to Full time Ph.D. l M.Tech. l M .S. (R) programme, the GATE Score of a candidate wherever required should not be lower than the minimum prescribed viz. 300 for General/OBC and 200 for SC/ST/ PH candidates.

For admission to M. Des. Programme the candidates are required to have CEED score with the same Score.

B.Tech./B.E./B.Sc.(Engg.)/M.Sc. in respective or allied area with a valid GATE/UGC/CSIR score; B.Tech. graduates from IITs with an overall minimum CGPA of 6.5 and a CGPA of 8.0 during the last two semesters in B.Tech may also apply without a GATE score (such candidates will, however, be not entitled for Institute Assistantship if CGPA is below 8.0).
For M.Tech. in Biological Sciences and Bio Engineering, candidates with MBBS or B.Pharma Degree are also considered. Eligibility for a specialization within a Department may depend on the candidate´s choice of test paper in GATE.
